Is the MainWP Pro lifetime deal worth it?

MainWP Pro costs $599 once for unlimited sites. The annual plan costs $199 a year, so the lifetime license pays for itself after 37 months. Over five years you save $396 compared with renewing every year.

The MainWP Pro lifetime deal is worth it if you look after many WordPress sites and plan to keep doing that for years. There is only one lifetime tier and it has no site limit, so every client site you add later lowers the cost per site. Agencies and freelancers with a growing list of client sites get the most out of it, especially if they already run their own server.

If you manage only a handful of sites, start with the free dashboard and check whether the core features are enough. The Pro add-ons matter once you want client reports, monitoring, security checks or links to backup and SEO tools. Keep in mind that the pricing page does not say how long updates and support run, and that you have 30 days to ask for a refund.

MainWP free vs. MainWP Pro

The free MainWP dashboard on wordpress.org already lets you update core, plugins and themes on all connected sites and log into each one with a click. For a small portfolio that may be all you need, and it is the easiest way to see whether a self-hosted dashboard fits the way you work.

MainWP Pro unlocks all premium add-ons on top of that dashboard: client profiles and automated reports, uptime, SSL and domain monitoring, a vulnerability scanner, team roles and white label for the child plugin. Your sites and settings stay in place, so moving from free to Pro needs no rebuild.

MainWP lifetime license instead of a yearly plan

A dashboard for many sites is something you keep for a long time, and yearly fees add up with every renewal. The lifetime license replaces those renewals with one payment and covers all current and future Pro add-ons. It is the only lifetime tier, so there is no choice of site count to make.

Because the dashboard runs on your own server, you also avoid per site fees of hosted services. The trade off is that you look after that dashboard install yourself, including its hosting and backups.

How to manage multiple WordPress sites after you buy

You set up the dashboard on a separate WordPress install, add your license and install the add-ons you want. Then you install the MainWP Child plugin on every site and connect it. From that point updates, users, plugins and themes of all sites run through one screen.

MainWP Pro pros and cons

Pros

  • Unlimited sites and dashboards with one license
  • All current and future Pro add-ons for one payment
  • Free core plugin lets you test before you buy

Cons

  • High entry price if you only look after a handful of sites
  • Every managed site needs the MainWP Child plugin
  • Many add-ons only manage third-party plugins or services that you have to set up on your sites

MainWP Pro features

  • Central updates for core, plugins and themes
  • One-click login to every connected site
  • Client profiles and automated client reports
  • Uptime, SSL and domain expiry monitoring
  • Vulnerability scanner and security plugin settings
  • Team roles and white label for the child plugin

MainWP Pro: Manage multiple WordPress sites

MainWP turns one WordPress install into a private control panel for all your client sites: updates, users, plugins and themes are handled in one place, and you log into any connected site with one click.

The Pro lifetime plan adds all 30+ existing premium add-ons and every future one, which link the dashboard to backup, security, monitoring and SEO tools. The dashboard runs on your own server, so the data stays with you, and the number of managed sites is unlimited.

License: One-time payment for unlimited sites with all current and future Pro add-ons. The pricing page does not state how long updates and support run. It is the only lifetime tier.
