Lifetime license or annual plan: do the math
Whether a lifetime license pays off is simple arithmetic. Divide the lifetime price by the price of the vendor’s own annual plan and multiply by 12. The result is the number of months after which the subscription would have cost more than the one-time payment.
Take Bricks Builder: the lifetime license costs $599, the annual plan $249. After 29 months the subscription would have cost more, and after five years the lifetime license has saved you $646.

What a lifetime license covers, and what it doesn’t
The one-time price is only half the story. The license terms decide how far that payment goes. Four points in the terms make the difference.
Sites and domains

Updates are not the same as support
Many deals promise lifetime updates, but support can end much sooner. The updates keep coming afterwards; what you lose is the help desk.
Add-on services with their own subscription
A lifetime license covers the product, not every service around it. Divi sells Divi AI, Divi Cloud and VIP support as separate subscriptions. Presto Player Pro charges extra for private video hosting through Bunny.net, and the AI features of Bricksfusion Pro need your own paid account with an AI provider.
Promises with an end date

Is a lifetime license really for life?
Usually for the lifetime of the product, not yours. Astra Pro and MainWP Pro, for example, say so in their license terms. If a product is discontinued, a lifetime license cannot bring back new updates.
Do I get updates forever?

Can I move my license to another site?
