The lifetime license meaning on most pricing pages sounds simple: pay once, use the plugin for good. The license terms tell a more detailed story, from support that ends after a year to services that stay subscriptions. These seven points show where to look before you buy, with examples from the terms we checked for the 65 deals in our catalog.

1. How many sites the license covers

The price on a pricing page usually belongs to the smallest tier. For 36 deals in our catalog, that is a license for one site, and every additional site means a bigger tier. Count the sites you run today and the ones you plan to build, then compare the tiers.

2. Updates and support are two different things

Many deals promise lifetime updates, but support often runs for a shorter time. 4. Services that stay subscriptions

A lifetime license covers the product, not every service around it. Divi sells Divi AI, Divi Cloud and VIP support as separate subscriptions. Private video hosting through Bunny.net is a separate paid service for Presto Player Pro, and the AI features of Bricksfusion Pro need your own paid account with an AI provider.

Watch out for extras with a time limit, too. Essential Addons for Elementor Pro includes Templately PRO for six months only, and the AI features of Tutor LMS Pro need a paid OpenAI API key.

5. Moving the license to another site

Sites come and go. Before you buy, check whether you can move a license when a project ends. WP Fastest Cache Premium covers 1 site and can only be transferred during the first year. The Blogger tier of WPvivid Backup Pro allows one license transfer every 3 days, and the OceanWP Pro Bundle allows unlimited domain changes.

6. Refunds and testing

A lifetime license is one large payment, so the refund policy matters. The refund terms in our data range from none at all to 60 days, and many come with conditions.
